International Grand Masters Hockey Festival 23 t/m 30 juni
Dear guests,
For us at Hockey Club Klein Zwitserland it is a privilege and huge honour to be organising the International Grand Masters Hockey Festival (IGMHF). We will be welcoming up to 53 teams, comprising some 900 players from all over the world! Not only from the near vicinity in Europe, but from Australia, Argentina, Canada and the USA as well.
This tournament marks the end of a year in which we celebrated our 115th anniversary. It follows the formal World Championship for players of 60 and over, that was held 10 years ago, also organised by us. We are very proud that you choose to join us at the IGMHF and look forward to making sure that you all will be enjoying a wonderful tournament.
A huge thank you to our volunteers who have put in some serious time to have such an amazing program and nice activities, apart from playing the fields of course!
We wish you the best of luck, lots of fun and sun, and we hope you will enjoy not only the tournament but everything that The Hague has to offer its visitors as well. Obviously, we look forward to seeing you all at the party that we will be hosting for you on June 27th at Madurodam.
Best regards,
Martin Wörsdörfer,
on behalf of the board of HC Klein Zwitserland
A very warm welcome to the Hague to all teams and their supporters. We are delighted that our hosts H.C. Klein Zwitserland (HCKZ) have put so much effort into organising what I am sure will be a memorable event both on and off the field of play! The WGMA is delighted to have assisted HCKZ in the preparations and as President, I look forward to meeting all 53 teams!
This event is not only about playing hockey, but is also about meeting old friends and making new friends from other countries. The social aspect of Grand Masters hockey is very important to us all and respecting fair play both on and off the pitch is fundamental to our enjoyment.
Of particular note is the first ever O80’s festival hockey tournament which comes so recently after the recent International match, won by the Netherlands and in which the eldest player was 89!! I hope I will live to see an O90’s match!!
Have fun and enjoy the superb facilities that our hosts HCKZ are providing us with and on behalf of you all, the WGMA thanks HCKZ most sincerely.
With every best wish,
John F Willmott
President–World Grand Masters Association (WGMA)
